Who is responsible

Soft Signal is run by Veianya Hansen, who is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are responsible for looking after it.

What we collect and why

• Family details — your family name, the first names you add for family members, and the email addresses that receive signals. We use these to create your family link and deliver signals. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• Signals — the energy, feeling, what's going on, support choices, and any optional message, along with the name of the person sending. We use these only to send the email to your family and to show your usage count. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• Reminder settings — an optional name, email address, preferred time and timezone, if someone signs up for a daily reminder. Legal basis: consent, which can be withdrawn any time using the stop link in every reminder.
• Technical and security data — basic server logs such as IP address and error information, used to keep the service running and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working service.
• Purchase records — whether a family has unlocked unlimited signals and a reference for the order. Legal basis: performing our agreement and meeting legal obligations.

We do not ask for accounts, passwords, dates of birth, health records, or diagnoses. Soft Signal is not a medical service and the choices you tap are not treated as health data by us.

Who we share it with

• The people on your family list — that is the whole purpose of a signal.
• Service providers — our hosting, database and email delivery providers, who process data only on our instructions.
• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, who handles the sale, payment, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds.
• Professional advisers — legal or accounting advisers where needed.
• Authorities — where the law requires it.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Signals are kept while your family link is in use so we can count usage and resend if something fails, and are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. Reminder details are deleted when someone stops reminders. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your family and everything in it at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable form, or withdraw consent. Contact us using the details on this site and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

Soft Signal is hosted in the United States, so data may be transferred there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and private family links that are hard to guess. Please share your family link only with people you trust.

Cookies

Soft Signal uses only essential cookies and similar storage needed to make the site and checkout work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our payment provider may set cookies during checkout to process your order securely.
